WP store is an e-commerce based WordPress theme, one of the latest themes to be listed in wordpress.org theme directory. The theme is designed especially for online stores hence making it fully compatible with the WooCommerce plugin. In this session of theme review, let’s look forward to this theme and encounter its pros and cons and deliver the genuine verdict of the same.
WP Store Features
WP Store theme embraces customizer API tool which is perfect for users who want to adjust changes they wish to make at the real time. There is a single ‘homepage’ template where the main design of the theme comes into play. The top most bar links to the ‘myaccount’ page and has login/logout link. Below it lies logo in the left corner and phone number and cart detail to the right. Menu items from the main menu ‘primary’ exhibit next where a search icon is also integrated which eases visitors to find products or anything of their quests.
You can control slider from customizer setting homepage settings > slider settings where there are few settings, like, enable/disable, select a category, insert pagination etc. The promotional block is followed by the product display section. In the former one, promotion of your store can be shown and the later displays the products. Furthermore, CTA which is an abbreviation for Call To Action is added after these two blocks. If you want to keep your visitors updated with the recent news of your store then blog section can also be enabled. There is nine widgetized section in the homepage, namely, widget area one, product widget area, widget area two, widget area three, widget icon area, footer one, footer two, footer three and footer four. Out of these the first five are mixed up with the product and other blocks like a blog, CTA etc and remaining four are for the pre-footer regions. Just above the pre-footer region, you can show your product icons just by selecting the category and enabling it from homepage settings > brand settings.
As the theme is accentuated for the WooCommerce plugin, there are some WooCommerce settings too which can be adjusted. You can show or hide slider, footer widgets in shop page and tweak some product display settings as well. The theme comes with inner pages settings as well, for a single (page and post ), blog, archive pages, you can show/hide slider and widgets, choose post and page layouts and alter the excerpt text. You can add payment logos and details, footer copyright and social media links of your store as well to connect with visitors more often. While adding posts or pages, you can tweak the layout of their respective single post or page, like, layout with right sidebar, left sidebar, both sidebar or none.
WP store has not recommended the WooCommerce plugin which is quite unnecessary because of the name ‘WP store’ itself implies the theme is WooCommerce related. But it could be hard to comprehend for newbies and might confuse them a little.
Finally, as far as the verdict is concerned, we highly recommend using this theme for it has too many features integrated so well into a full-fledged online store based website. If you don’t have the budget to buy a premium theme, yet you want lots of functionality, then this theme would be ideal for your online store.
